Bebe Beliz (1989 TR) moved to the Netherlands in 2007, currently she’s living and working in foundation B.a.d in Rotterdam the Netherlands. In Istanbul where she was born and raised she graduated in the studies philo-sophy and literature. In 2009 she studied one year fine arts at the Willem de Kooning academy in Rotterdam. After having several talks with Bebe about performance art and seeing some of her works, that mostly involves her images and person, shows an interest in performance as a way of escapism. For this PAEkort Beliz will present a number of performances from her new developed series ‘Adapting to Modernity’.
Bebe Beliz (1989 TR) is in 2007 naar Nederland gekomen, nu woont en werkt ze in stichting B.a.d in Rotterdam. In Istanbul waar ze is geboren en opgegroeid, is ze afgestudeerd in filosofie en literatuur. In 2009 studeerde ze voor een jaar beeldende kunst aan de Willem de Kooning academie in Rotterdam. Na gesprekken met Bebe over performancekunst en het zien van haar werk, waarin zij als persoon vaak een rol heeft, toont haar interesse in performance als een vorm van escapisme.Voor deze PAEkort zal Beliz een aantal performances presenteren uit haar nieuwe serie ‘Adapting to Modernity’.
Renée van Trier (1983 NL) lives and works in Breda the Netherlands. She studied fine arts and graduated in 2010 from her Masters at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam. For PAE she already performed during a previous event named ‘The more crisis, the more perfor-mance’ at De Brakke Grond. When I see van Trier performing I’m always fascinated by the sub-cultural inspired characters she creates. Both musical and visual she knows how to bring an exciting show. For PAEkort she will present her performance ÉPUPA.

Renée van Trier (1983, NL) woont en werkt in Breda. Ze studeerde beeldende kunst en heeft in 2010 haar Masters aan het Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam afgerond. Voor PAE heeft ze al eerder een werk gepresenteerd tijdens het event ‘The more crisis, the more performance’ in De Brakke Grond. De beelden die via van Triers subcultureel geïnspireerde personages ontstaan fascineren mij iedere keer weer. Zowel muzikaal en visueel weet ze een boeiende show neer te zetten. Voor PAEkort zal ze haar performance ÉPUPA uitvoeren.

PAEkort is a monthly event organized by PAE, that presents one or two performance art works on a Wednesday evening in the Wolfart Projectspaces Rotterdam. The aim is to have a more regular stage for perfor-mance art, next to the bigger once a year event because we want to encourage the performance art in the Netherlands and keep the audience connected by building up a relationship through regularity. Next that we want to present esthablished performance artist our focus will be more on the beginners and even the ones who have no experience but need a place for the experiment.
PAEkort is een maandelijks evenement georganiseerd door PAE, waar op de woensdagavond in de Wolfart Projectspaces te Rotterdam één of twee performance werken worden getoond. Het doel is om naast het grote eens per jaar event op meer regelmatige basis een podium te creëren voor de performancekunst, om zo nog meer de performancekunst in Nederland te stimuleren en een betere band met het publiek op te bouwen. Naast de meer gevestigde performancekunstenaars gaat ons focus vooral uit naar de beginnende en zelfs degenen die geen ervaring hebben, en een plek nodig hebben voor experiment.
